The Creative Grids Half Rectangle Trim Tool, designed by Deb Heatherly, makes it easier than ever to cut half rectangles. You can even make them in seven different sizes with either a right or left-slanting seam (finished sizes include 1 x 2 , 1.5 x 3 , 2 x 4 , 2.5 x 5 , 3 x 6 , 3.5 x 7 , and 4 x 8 ). Printed directly on the tool is an easy to read cutting chart, as well as trim lines in black and white for perfect half rectangle units every time. The A and B trims make it easy to line up the triangles for sewing. Since half rectangles have a different angle than half square triangles, an extra 1 8 indent is added in the final trimming so that when sewn into a project, the seam lines will go corner to corner.

As with all Creative Grids rulers, the Half Rectangle Trim Tool slides easily over the fabric until pressure is applied. Once pressure is applied, their exclusive gripper technology holds the material in place, helping to prevent slipping and miss-cuts.
