Description

The Ruffler Foot effortlessly creates tiny pleats or gathers in light to medium-weight fabrics. Easily adjust the ruffle fullness and pleat width to achieve the perfect look for any project, from delicate ruffles to structured pleats.

How to Use:

  1. Remove the Ankle Shank Detach the ankle shank from your sewing machine.

  3. Replace Needle Clamp Screw Replace the needle clamp screw with the longer screw provided with the ruffler.

  5. Attach the Ruffler Place the Ruffler on the machine s ankle shank, ensuring the fork is positioned over the needle clamp screw. Secure it with the accessory thumb screw.

  7. Select Stitch Set your machine to a straight stitch only.

  9. Adjust Presser Foot Pressure Reduce the presser foot pressure if needed for smooth fabric feeding.

  11. Set Pleat Frequency Use the Adjusting Lever (J) to control pleat frequency:
    1: Pleat every stitch.
    6: Pleat every 6th stitch.
    12: Pleat every 12th stitch.
    0: No pleats; the Ruffler is disengaged for normal straight stitching.

  13. Adjust Fullness: Use the Adjusting Screw (I) to set the ruffle fullness:
    Turn right for more fullness.
    Turn left for less fullness.
    Tip: Test on scrap fabric to find the desired fullness.

  15. Select Stitch Length Set the stitch length to 2.5-3. Experiment with different lengths, as shorter stitches create tighter pleats. Always set the width to 0 for straight stitching.

    16. How to Sew with the Ruffler:

      1. Ruffle Fabric
        Insert the fabric to be ruffled into the guide slots (G), then between the two black blades (E & F), extending beyond the needle point.
        Lower the presser foot and sew at an even medium speed for consistent ruffles.

      3. Ruffle and Attach to Flat Fabric
        Place the flat fabric right side up under the ruffler.
        Position the fabric to be ruffled right side down into the guide slot and blades, as in step 1 above.

      5. Sew The flat fabric feeds normally while the top fabric is ruffled and stitched to it simultaneously, creating beautiful, evenly spaced ruffles.
